Collection of Natural History Curiosities
LORD COCONUT is planning our next exhibition in November which is called “The Charles T Fairthorne Travelling Collection of Natural History Curiosities”.
All current jewellers/designers whose work is stocked by LORD COCONUT are invited to participate in the exhibition along with a hand-selected group of jewellers who have expressed an interest in becoming involved with the store. If you know of any other jewellers who may be interested in participating in this exhibition, please ask them to contact me directly.
Exhibition Name: The Charles T Fairthorne Travelling Collection of Natural History Curiosities
Exhibition Theme: Charles T Fairthorne, old friend and travelling companion of Lord Coconut, has amassed a collection of Natural History curiosities. As a naturalist, entomologist, geologist and prominent member of the anthropological community, he is travelling the world with his Natural History collection to raise money to fund his next adventure searching for the illusive ‘coconut headhunter’ tribe in New Guinea.
You are challenged to create jewellery or display pieces for men which are inspired by or may have travelled as part of this collection of natural history curiosities. Please also include a 100 word description of your piece plus material used.
Exhibition Date: 18th November to 10th December 2011
Exhibition Opening: Friday 18th November 5-7pm
Format: Works can be any medium but must not be larger than 20cm high X 20cm wide X 20 cm deep and must be created within the last two years.
Jewellery/artwork: All jewellery/artwork is required to be delivered to Lord Coconut along with the attached Exhibition Application Form by 31st October 2011.
Any unsold jewellery/artwork must be picked up by the artisan by the 17th December 2011.
Consignment Agreement: Participation in this exhibition is dependent on the artisan signing the Lord Coconut Consignment Agreement if the artisan has not already done so.
Exhibition catalogue: An exhibition catalogue will be produced and jewellers/designers agree to their names and/or images being used for promotional purposes including inclusion in the exhibition catalogue.
